Alliance bases vary in size depending upon their function. Some are full scale bases and smaller outposts while others are supply or weapons caches. There are thousands of these scattered across the galaxy whose locations are closely guarded secrets. The majority of the facilities are small, helping to cut losses if discovered.
Base types include:
Surveillance Base: used for long term observation and intelligence gathering.
Recon Base: Rendezvous points, supply depots, pick-up and drop off shelters usually used by commandos and other strike teams.
Outpost: The most versatile of installations and are typically supplied and stocked for specific missions.
Operational Base: a permanent installation, well inside Alliance controlled territory.
