Innocent Meeting Or Not?

Boredly, Victoria walked the streets of Shardakour. She was clad in a soft,
silver shirt with dark blue pants and boots. Her lightsaber hung off her
black belt and dangle on her left side. Despite her hair pulled back in a
braid, a few strands got loose and tickled her face.

Deciding that she should go and get herself fed, she wandered in an 'Open
Air Market'. As she got her food, she didn't show how irritated she was when
one of the workers addressed her as 'Lady Alderson'. Instead, she faked a
smile and walked off to a table to eat. In the middle of her lunch, a boy,
about her age or maybe a little older, with ruffled black hair plopped down
in the chair across from her.

"Hey there," he greeted with a grin.

Arching an eyebrow, she glanced around with her eyes before resting them on
him. "Um, what do you think you're doing?"

"Sitting across a pretty girl, I believe."

She growled mentally. "I don't want you sitting across from me."

"Why? I won't hurt you…just want to talk."

"I don't wish to." She stretched out with the Force, sensing to any danger.
So far, she didn't pick up any. The boy, whoever he was, seemed to be staring
right through her. She shivered slightly as she stood up. It was a good thing
that she paid before she sat down…

"Leaving so soon?"

"What does it look like?" she snapped at him.

"Why are you so defensive?"

"Don't you have anything better to do than harass me?"

"Nope." He smiled, then sobered up a bit. "You sure you don't even wanna
*try* to talk?"

"Positive." She turned on her heel and headed out of the market. He only
followed her. Rolling her eyes, she stopped and stared at him. He had almost
bumped into her; she had stopped and turned so suddenly.

"Stop that."

"What?"

"Following me."

"Why so hostile? You look bored…perhaps I could join you."

She cocked a brow at him. "I like being bored by myself, thank you very
much."

He smiled. "Maybe I can take you out of your boredom."

"Not interested." Again, she walked off, hoping that he would get the hint
that she wanted him to buzz off. Apparently, he didn't.

"You shouldn't be alone."

She stared at him. "I'm not."

He glanced around her. "Looks to me you are."

Victoria watched him closely. His hopeful look was so amusing. Letting out a
sigh and against her better judgment, she said, "Okay…fine. Were we…to talk,
what about?"

"Anything you want." He paused. "What about family?"

She started to walk again. He followed in stride. "What about it?"

He shrugged slightly. "What are yours?" Noting her brief silence, he
corrected himself. "What are they like?"

"They're great. What of yours?"

He glanced at her, his black hat blowing a bit in the soft winds. "I never
really knew mine. I only knew my father didn't want anything to do with me…
and my mother…well, my mother was a drinker and gave me up." The anger was
evident in his tone.

Victoria looked at him. "She sold you?"

"Yeah. She liked her ale better than me."

Silence lingered in the air for a few moments before he apologized," I'm
sorry, shouldn't bring the mood down."

Victoria squinted her eyes from the glare of the sun. "You *did* want to talk
about family. Don't apologize to me."

He laughed slightly. "I like your attitude."

And should I be impressed? she thought. "So, eh, what's your name?" she asked
him.

"Kiefer'r. You?"

"Victoria." For the first time in his presence, she smiled a bit. "So…hrm…
are visiting here or living?"

"Living. I float around a lot." He paused. "Actually, to tell ya the truth, I
just moved here with a few buddies of mine."

"Ah."

"Yeah…maybe if you're not too busy, perhaps you can give me a tour around
Shardakour tomorrow."

She seemed to consider it. I'm just going to regret this, aren't I? she mused
to herself.

"Sure, if that's what you want."

"Great. I suppose we can…meet up at the same place we met around noon then."

"Yeah." She nodded. "I should get a move on…it was nice to meet you."

"Feeling's mutual, Victoria."

She nodded before she headed off in her own direction. Kiefer'r watched her
until she disappeared from his sight. With an evil grin, he turned around and
walked back.

~*~ 10 min. later…

Another boy waited impatiently by some bushes as he waited for Kiefer'r.
Hearing footsteps, he stiffened. It was Kiefer'r.

"Hey," he greeted Kiefer'r.

"Hi."

"How did it go with the Alderson girl?"

"Victoria? Well," he smiled widely, "she's giving me a tour around this
planet tomorrow…it won't be long before we recruit her for our cause."
