Even Smugglers Make Mistakes, Part 2 by April Randall, Ginna Wilcoxen, and Amanda Wilcoxen Medenna walked off the transport and onto the ground of Yavin. Finally back from Port Lansing, which had been one interesting weekend. She would have never thought that Master D'med would consider asking her to be her Padawan. Maybe she would never be Octavia's apprentice, but she was still glad to be Master D'med's apprentice. She moved in the direction where her quarters were so she could unpack. As usual, her friend Micko had been waiting for her. "'Bout time you got back." She glared playfully at him as she gave him her duffel bag. He slouched a bit from the sudden weight. "Hey!" "I thought you wanted to carry it since it took me *so* long to get back." She grinned a bit. He promptly threw her bag back at her. "Managed to stay out of trouble at Port Lansing?" "Yeah." "Wow." She wasn't going to tell him about that little run in with Imperials though. That would just get him on one of his kicks about how she had this knack for getting into trouble. It wasn't her fault that she was captured...a few times.... "Well, I gotta unpack, catch up with ya later?" Medenna said, looking at him. "Sure." Micko watched her walk the rest of the way to her quarters. ***** Later that day, after Medenna had unpacked and settled back in, she went back outside. It was a nice day and she didn't want to spend it inside. Her eyes glanced around briefly. Mia piloted the small shuttle towards the trees. It was barely big enough for two people, let alone three. "Connell, I hope you've got the Force collar ready, because Medenna's right down there." Mia pointed. Medenna let out a soft sigh, as her shoulder blades twitched a bit. Something didn't feel right to the young Jedi, so she looked around more carefully, eyeing anything suspicious. The shuttle, using some of the Parallax's own technology developed for covert operations, was not easily detected by radar and certainly not by human sight. Mia landed the shuttle in forest clearing with only a whisper of sound. What irritated Medenna was that she saw nothing, but the unsettling feeling didn't go anyway. "Ready?" Mia asked Connell. He nodded. Usually Mia didn't bring others with her on jobs, but she wasn't taking any chances with trained Force users. The shuttle hatch opened silently and they stepped onto the soft grass. She walked around a bit, determined to find out what exactly was bugging her. Mia looked down at her heat-sensitive radar instrument. "Someone's coming," she said to Connell. Quickly, they both hid behind a large tree as the unknown person stepped into the clearing. Medenna's hand drifted close to her 'saber as she walked silently, not stepping on a twig or anything. Mia signaled to Connell to stay there. She'd need him for back-up if other Jedi arrived. She disciplined herself to wait for just the right moment to spring. There weren't any footsteps, but then Mia detected a shadow approaching on the forest floor. With ease and quietness, she unhooked her saber, ready to use. Mia paused as a thin shadow protruded from the shadow of the approaching figure. Was it a blaster barrel? No, she remembered the Jedi fought with lightsabers. Mia had only seen one of them before, and it hadn't been pretty. Stretching out with the Force, she took another step forward. Mia waited until the right moment, then jumped and tackled the approaching figure. They hit the ground rolling. Medenna's lightsaber had flown from her hand. She rolled off of the woman and stood up quickly, glancing around briefly for her 'saber. Mia leapt to her feet, surprised to see before her Medenna La'Rose. "Medenna?" she asked quickly. "Who are you?" she questioned carefully, still alert. "I was sent by an employee of your father's," Mia explained. "I'm here to take you home." "What?! You're taking me nowhere." Mia frowned. "You can trust me. But we have to leave quickly, there's Jedi all over the place." She involuntarily shivered. "I'm not going anywhere with you." She stepped back slightly and was ready to start running. Mia shook her head. "Medenna, listen to me. You don't have to stay with the Jedi! Your father wants you back." What was this woman talking about? Spotting her lightsaber, she used the Force to claim it back before she started off running. Mia didn't have time to think about why this idiot was running from her. She ran after Medenna, a little worried now that Medenna was taller than she was. "Connell!" Mia yelled. Connell took off at another angle towards the Jedi. Together, they would grab her. Medenna ran fast as she could. Were she thinking straight, she would've used the Force to help her, but she didn't^Åunfortunately for her. Mia tackled Medenna once more and pinned her to the ground. Connell was only seconds behind her. "Quick, before they can track her!" Mia hissed. Connell bent down and snapped the Force collar onto Medenna and Mia breathed a sigh of relief. Now they wouldn't be able to find Medenna. "Get off of me!" Medenna yelled, putting up a fight, or at least trying to. Medenna's arm caught Mia in the face and Mia fell back with a cry. She put a hand to her face and was surprised to discover blood running out of her nose. Connell had to put up with Medenna's flailing limbs. He received a kick to the solar plexus before Mia could pin down Medenna's legs. Medenna tried to use her hands to punch the nearest one of them. "Connell, get her arms!" Mia ordered. "We'll have to carry her back." Connell moved forward and was finally able to grab one of Medenna's wrists and wrenched it back. Medenna yelled loudly. "Let go of me!" She jerked her body, still trying to kick with her feet and arms. She *had* to get free! "We're working for your father," Mia told her again, still trying to get a firm grip on the other girl's legs. "What's wrong with you?" "No you're not! Stop lying." She growled, still squirming. "You know, I've had enough of this," Mia snapped. "Let's go." She stood up as best as she could, holding Medenna's legs while Connell pinned her arms against her torso. She tried screaming loudly, hoping *someone* would hear her. She tried to contact Master Alida, but ever since they snapped the collar on her, she couldn't. Medenna lost all connections within the Force. "Medenna, shut up!" Mia hissed as they stumbled through the forest. "Stop kicking!" "HEEEEEEEEELLLP!" "That's it, I can't handle this brat any longer," Mia said, still very aware of the blood trickling down her face. Her shuttle was in sight and as soon as they reached it, Mia and Connell tossed Medenna in. Medenna sprawled to the floor. Mia scrambled in and sat in the pilot's seat, shutting the hatch as soon as Connell was in. "Is the prisoner secure?" she asked him. "I don't want any trouble while I'm piloting." "I've got her," Connell said. Medenna glared at the man as she still tried to break free. The shuttle rose into the air and Mia was grateful there didn't seem to be any other signs of Jedi around. "Sit still, Medenna. You're in for a long ride." "What do you think you're going to get from kidnapping a Jedi student?" Mia was tired of trying to explain things to her. There would be time to figure out what exactly was going on once they got to the Parallax. _________________________________________________________________ Join the world^Òs largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TRANSMISSION FROM: "Alliana 701" TO: The FoE Role-Play list Remember: Please send all non-Role-Play to the General Club list foe@deathstar.org If you have any problems or questions, please send them to: cantina-owner@deathstar.org
