How We Fit In

We are often asked where Forces of the Empire, LTD. (FoE) fits in to the Star Wars universe.  And the answer is: We follow along exactly up to the final scenes of RETURN OF THE JEDI. At that point we diverge, and become an alternate universe.

We had to, since we have role-play involving Darth Vader and the Emperor, as well as other characters who died in the movies.

In our universe, the Empire was greatly hurt by the Rebel victory at Endor, but by no means was it destroyed.  The Emperor survived the attack on the second Death Star (whether by grabbing something before landing in the reactor, or by jumping to a pre-planned clone body, is anyone's guess) and Darth Vader did not die of his injuries, but was saved by Luke, only to revert  to his Dark Side nature and return to the Imperial fold.  The Empire is out to take back control of the galaxy, and at the same time is trying to keep itself together.

The Alliance, in our universe, was greatly bouyed by its victory at Endor. The Rebels took advantage of the Empires weakness and gained a substantial amount of territory. The Alliance set up its own government in the territory it controlled (the New Republic) as well as tried to fend off the Empire's efforts to crush it.  Unfortunately, the Empire made a comeback and the Alliance has been beaten back to a handful of sectors with isolated worlds still maintaining strong New Republic control.  They are better off than they were at the beginning of A NEW HOPE but not by much.

While the Mercenaries work for whomever contracts with them, the Press Corps observe and agitate over the State of the Galaxy, and the Diplomats try to achieve peace once more, the Alliance and Empire continue to struggle for their goals.
