THINGS YOU NEED TO BRING FORMAT

The Tournament is played over Saturday and Sunday. You will participate in a series of six games. After each game you will play against a different opponent. In the first round, players will be matched based on their NAF ranking if they have one, others will be ranked as if they were CR 150. After that, in each round the two players in 1st and 2nd place (based on their points for coaching) will play each other, the players in 3rd and 4th place will play each other, the players in 5th and 6th place will play each other, and so on. The only exception is that you can never play the same opponent twice; should this happen a referee will step in and sort things out so that the players face fresh opponents of a suitable calibre. Each player has a special results form. Once you've finished your game, you must fill in the form and then hand it in at the scoring desk. It is important you fill all the information in as this will decide your ranking and ultimately the winner of the Tournament. Your results will then be entered into the tournament database.

THE FINAL

After Game 5 the two top teams will be announced and will play in the final to determine who will be crowned the Tournament Champion. The remaining coaches will play the final round. The coach with the most tournament points from that group will be awarded the League Cup.

IMPORTANT!

Competitors are advised that from the moment of entry into the event, all decisions by Judges and Referees regarding the fair adjucation of the Tournament rules and all issues of health and safety are final. No discussions will be entered into once a decision has been made. This applies to rules adjucations, the scores applied to any category of the Tournament, painting judging, and any issues that require the cooperation of the competitors. Once the Tournament results are published we cannot alter them in any way. Any breach of these rules will be considered a Red Card offence (see Referees section for more information).

SCORING

Game Result
Win = 50 points
Tie = 30 points
Loss = 10 points

Bonus Points
+10 points = Blow out bonus (Won by 2+ points)
+10 points = Keeping it close bonus (Lost by 1 point)
+10 points = Smackdown bonus (Caused more casualties)
+5  points = Give and take (Tied for casualties)

PAINTING:

Based: All the bases in the team (including coaching staff) are painted and textured in some manner. The baseline for texture is flock as a minimum. Just being painted green is not enough!

Painted: The team is painted, all models have at least 3 colors on them. Different colors should be used for different areas. Undercoats must not be visible.

Detailed: All models have had the details of the model painted in a variety of colors or with noticeable effects. This can be shading or highlighting, or 'black-lining' etc. This discriminates between the merely painted team and the team that has had attention paid to it.

Representative: All models on the team are representative of the race and position that they are meant to portray. Extra weapons that are not part of a finished and painted figure should be removed. This does not mean that you must use official Blood Bowl miniatures. Only that an Ogre should look like an Ogre, a Dwarf should look like a Dwarf and so on.

+3 points = Based
+3 points = Painted
+3 points = Detailed
+6 points = Representative

Important: For all 4 of the above ... In order to get the full points for a category all the models in the team must fulfill the criteria. If even one fails, the points can't be scored. The team voted best overall painted team by the coaches playing in the tournament over lunch will receive an extra 5 Painting points. The head referee and his assistants will choose the teams eligible for this voting during the morning. You must have painted your own team to be eligible for the best painted voting (however, teams painted by another person can still earn the full 15 normal painting points).

SPORTSMANSHIP

At the end of the last game, you will mark down sportsmanship for your six opponents. In almost every case you will award 3 points per opponent. In two rare cases you will mark a different score. In the case that your opponent was unsportsman enough to merit notice, you will mark them down for 1 point. In the case that your opponent was extremely sporting you can give them special sportsmanship award worth 5 points.

+5 points = Especially Sporting (max one awarded)
+3 points = Sporting
+1 point  = Unsporting (max one awarded)

GAME DICE:

You need to supply your own blocking dice and D8. D6 will be provided and will be the only dice allowed to be used for the tournament.

SKILL GAINS

After every game your team will have 20,000 GC to spend. One player will be randomly selected and can get a skill increase. Use the following chart to determine what type of skill increase you can get. If you don't spend the money, it will remain in your treasurey until you do spend it.

Cost for skills:
20,000 New Skill
30,000 Skills you can take on Doubles.
30,000 +1 MA or +1 AV
40,000 +1 AG
50,000 +1 ST

WIZARDS

No Wizards will be allowed. Undead and Necromatic coaches may argue the call and may raise the dead. The raised zombie will be added to the roster for the remainder of the tournament (assuming the coach has an extra painted zombie model.)

CASUALTIES

All casualties that have been inflicted on your team, including death, are wiped away at the end of the game. In other words the team resets after every game. Skills accrued through the tournament will not be lost, even if the player dies.

ILLEGAL PROCEDURE

The normal Illegal Procedure rules are replaced with the following rule.

Each coach is responsible for keeping track of how many turns his team has used, and must move the Turn counter one space along the track provided on his Dugout at the start of each and every one of his team turns. If he forgets to move the counter before taking an action with one or more of his players, then the opposing coach is allowed to call for an ‘illegal procedure’ penalty as soon as he spots the mistake. An action is considered to be moving one or more squares, or rolling the dice to throw a block, pass the ball or dodge. If you are called for illegal procedure before this or incorrectly (ie, when you have moved the turn marker along), then you receive a bonus team re-roll as a reward for the illegal call. A coach who successfully calls an opponent for illegal procedure gains a team re-roll.

4 MINUTE RULE

You may use the 4 minute timer if you wish. If one coach requests the use of the timer in a game then the other coach must agree to its use. The 4 minute period starts immediately after the end of the previous turn. Those who can not finish their game in the allotted time may have their game called at the discretion of the Chief Referee.
