Off to See the Wizard...

July 3 1996, Session Summary

[Dlarku and Tetkoru still absent]

We last left our Tsolyani dashing (our dashing Tsolyani?) down the Sakbe road toward the Mistress of the Empire, Mighty Jakalla. What sight, they ask themselves, might greet them upon the ramparts of the city walls? They crane their necks and squint their eyes, searching for copper glinting under harsh mid-day sun. But lo! They need not have feared, for not a single Scales of Brown soldier is to be seen.

All breathe a sigh of relief, especially Shekkara who had lately found herself all too familiar with other uses for the latrines and had begun to wonder if she would ever eat another properly prepared meal again.

Hardly a day after their return, each receives a personal inivation to a party at Prince Rereshqala's villa. La! Such honor to have bestowed upon those who are barely worthy of their clans. May the thirty-two forms of "you" trip easily off their tongues!

Upon being told that The Most Exquisite Princess Ma'in is not in Jakalla, Shekkara decides that it is permissible to show off her beauty.

At the party, a ranking Dlamelish priestess compliments Shekkara on her excellent application of magic to her appearance. Akhan heads to the gambling tables where he engages in the happy pastime of trading kaitars back and forth with the House, while Ngaya and Mikusa rub elbows with the leading Jakallani aristocracy.

To Shekkara's great surprise, Princess Ma'in Kruthain proves that Jakalla has not been without her grace and charm after all, and Shekkara learns with great happiness that Ma'in has not gone unaffected by Shekkara's beauty when she receives a request from Ma'in herself to attend her personally later that night.

Prince Rereshqala requests the presence of our most noble Tsolyani, where they learn for services performed that actually never happened he will grant them each a wish. Mikusa takes a rain check. Ngaya asks for a heart, Shekkara for a brain, and all Akhan wants is to go home. Poor Dlarku had not the courage to show, and so gets no wish, but then again, what does an Aspect of the Doomed Prince need from a human prince?

For a heart, Prince Rereshqala grants Ngaya the means with which to purchase her heart's desire, the beautiful Salarvyani slave that Akhan owns. For a brain, Rereshqala grants Shekkara a promotion in her temple. As for Akhan, the use of ruby red slippers required to fulfill his simple desire to go home to his legion and the prince he serves and the waiting promotion are denied to him, but for a consolation wish he is permitted the opportunity to learn magic at his temple and the waiting promotion was made not to wait for Akhan's return but instead couriered immediately to Jakalla. Furthermore, to the wonder of all, Rereshqala announces that Hereksa Akhan has been assigned to detached duty in Jakalla to be a neutral communication line between Rereshqala and his brother Prince Eselne. And so, Shekkara and her friends, ladies of Dlamelish and Hrihiyal, shall not have to go without Akhan's great strength (and long--urp!) to aid them in their endeavors after all!

Our new Hereska finds himself surrounded by fellow Karakan worshippers who solemnly initate him to his new rank. Ngaya and Mikusa find enjoyable company for the night while Shekkara and Ma'in embark on a renewed deep rivalry^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hfriendship.

Morning finds our Tsolyani still alive. Shekkara leaves Ma'in to recover in peace and solitude and discovers her long-time acquaintance Qolyemu hiSsanmirin in the company of her new acquaintance Mikusa. The three of them find Ngaya. And, with a little help from various powders of a pleasure-producing sort, the four commence a new party on a balcony to celebrate the beauteous site of the rising sun.

Akhan wakes in his own bed with only a hangover and his slave Sot for company. Today he purchases a new uniform to go with his new exaulted rank. He goes to the most noble establishment of _____, where he decides that his new rank and position requires that he wear only the finest and most expensive in uniforms and accessories and acquires a uniform that impresses even his new commanding officer, the most anal^H^H^H^Hproper Liaison Molkar.

In complete unselfish generosity, Shekkara gives to her temple the N'luss pleasure slave and learns of her upcoming promotion. Ngaya discovers that she has been transferred to the Chegarra temple in Jakalla. And Mikusa applies herself to her new etiquette studies in a new-found ambition to become Jakalla's new Miss Manners.
