Fate's Diary

Well, it's finally happened. My Planescape campaign, "Luck of the Draw", has finally come to a close after nearly three years (11/13/95 - 7/31/98) of almost continuous run-time. The game ended not so much because it was done (I like open-ended campaigns, personally), but rather it had picked up too much baggage and was getting rather hard to maintain a decent level of quality. That, and several of the players wanted new characters (again). So, we all agreed that where we got to was a fairly good stopping point, and ended the campaign. This is not to say that we're totally finished with the thing. I might start it back up again in a year, after I get a chance to play.

Anyway, now that the game is done, I finally have time to go back and try and describe how things went. Now, this will not be any great reading material; it will mainly be a summary of all the action that took place. This is mainly because I don't have quite enough information to fully describe who did what. I do have a log when every session took place and who was at it; I have some detailed notes from the first six adventures or so; I do have the time line I was maintaining; and I've got the entries from Nim's Journal. With all of that, I should be able to reconstruct most of the campaign. Plus, I'm sure that my players will be more than willing to provide additional information.

The pages here are something of an experiment - this is the first campaign of mine that I've actually documented. I'd like feedback from you, the general public. I'm interested in knowing if this is even of any interest in the first place, and if it is, how useful the current content is. Some suggestions on what other information I should have kept track of would be appreciated as well.

Timeline
The first solid piece of information I have on my campaign is a timeline of key events. I had scripted out the main plot points on it ahead of time, and then filled in the party actions and made revisions based on what those actions were. This document alone can almost provide a decent overview of how things went during the campaign.
