The dancin' man I've seen and talked to. He seems to be dancin' a large huge dance. Its the same steps over and over but in the print pattern such that a giant would stride. He of course, harassed me yet again. I've heard him repeat a name though, every time he has talked to me. I thought he didn't repeat 'em at all? Linderan. Wonder who that is?
Lilah bribed Hilda a lot to find out about someone that has been askin' questions about us all. The person in question is 6' tall and shadowy. He has brown hair, dark streaks and grey eyes - no visible faction showin'. He's from the Gatetown of Torch and into people/placement. Bet he's tryin' to place us somewhere we ain't want to be.
Note: Customer name is Norgil Mist. Human, overweight. Greyish monk hair and tusk-like teeth. Talked but learned nothin'.
Month 6, Day 28 - Argument with Lilah in Tradegate. I basically called her a bitch for tattlin' to Valas and discussin' my condition behind my back. Her and I had it out. Turns out she knows about me bein' female. Bitch. After a long winded small fight though, we decided to be friends and cemented it with the knife. We are blood siblin's now. I've had to correct her three times so far about it bein' SIBLINGS and not SISTERS. She's also bein' awfully annoyin' about the guy thin'. What does it matter whether I've been with men or not? What's the big deal?
Month 6, Day 29 - Slig took me to the Hive (Xaotech headquarters in the hive). Turns out Xaos is out of town and won't be back for some time. Sure. He's dead. I also went as Zao-Pin' to the Gymnasium and tried to find out about Vulny Hawkins - but he is definitely dead. He died in a tavern of a heart failure while negotiatin' a conflict between the Fated and the Harmonia. It had to do with tax collections.
I also dropped a note off for Valas at the cloak shop. He has bought me a special costume just for his business. Its a wererat outfit - I look just like a wererat. Very chic!
Month 7, Day 1 - Left on caravan. Sittin' in back with Lilah. She's dressed up right now as the "Voice of Hessel the Pale (ME!)". I've been silently, callin' her Vienna the Downtrodden. Thankfully, I'm a religious nut that doesn't talk so no one asks me questions which even more thankfully, I couldn't even begin to answer. I just point to Lilah and let her make it up as she goes.
Swider set us up on the Caravan. Its run by someTHING called Jumpin' Jack whom happens to be a big bug. I hate bugs. My luck - he ignored me. He set all of us up with Ramsee in the last wagon. He's headed for some egyptian place where some god of knowledge resides. Maybe I can find out about my current curse and a cure for it?
Note: Caravan has 20 wagons and is pulled by horses, giant lizards, pony's with tentacles growin' out of their backs and even big wingless birds. I'm far from happy - why can't we ever take a boat anywhere? Oh, Ramsee is wearin' an Onyx.
Month 7, Day 2 - Travelled through a pretty country. Rollin' hills, birch trees, maple trees - even sunny and clouds. Real nice compared to Sigel. Not too much in the name of water though. Can't write much as it doesn't go with the disguise.
Month 7, Day 3 - Bored. Very bored. We pulled off from the main group today. Now its just Ramsee, 3 guards and us. He's a great talker and thankfully I don't have to talk back but I'm beyond bored. Windbag! The only bright spot in it all is when Cha-kan takes me out and teaches me some Karate durin' the break. Of course, I can't talk which makes it a bit confusin' at times and this Hessel the Pale doesn't work too well for fightin' but we've got Ramsee believin' its merely for self defense.
Month 7, Day 6 - Nothin' to write about. Scenery has changed to prairie land and is more desert like. Salt Flats soon. We can see a great Spire in the distance. Its the "No Magic" zone. Maybe if I stand next to it the magic holdin' the invisibility on my body will dissipate... then again, maybe *I* will. Better not try. Mental Note: Use more water on the gills - feelin' a bit out of it.
Month 7, Day 8 - Salt flats and big sand dunes. Not feelin' very good. Dry heat. Way to dry. Can see several structures in distance. Five to be exact. One is a massive pyramid, one is a throne, two towers and a large domed buildin'. Ramsee says the throne is for the god and the domed buildin' is the great library. Valas is excited about that much amassed knowledge.
Month 7, Day 11 - We were in the city for a few days. Forgot to write. It was fairly borin' though there was a river. I was able to actually get out and go swimmin' and sleep in it. No one bothered me either. The great library turned out to be so vast I couldn't get anywhere. Luck - all bad though. Valas found nothin' to help me and I couldn't even begin a search.
Its just the 6 of us now. Everythin' is barren and filled with tumbleweeds. The night is cold though - drops down to where I shiver a lot even in the bedroll. Yesterday on the road we saw about 50 of the goat centaurs. They traded to us and gave woodenbowls and some minor leather goods. Rogan has us setup as merchants though I have no idea what it is we are carryin'.
Karate has been goin' well. I've picked up some more of the basics but for some reason I just can't get the finishin' touches mixed with the speed. Soon maybe...
Month 7, Day 12 - Cold and rainin'. In the distance is a big buildin'. We've passed through some hamlets and under a small tower. There is a green disk portal that supposedly goes to Sigel in there. We're headed for the fortress though. The Mercy Killers keep it and we can get a transport to some other town where we can get in touch with Tarsticks and find out where his lab is. At least I *HOPE* we can.
(Later) - Tough place. We have to wear a 3x5 Iron Chain card around our neck to keep folks from draftin' us into the bloodwar. Beyator and the Abyss both have representatives and are recruitin' for constant battles. We've had to sludge through 3 miles of mud just to get a small room for the night. There are orcs, gnolls, bugbears and all kinds of nasty lookin' creatures. The market is also fixed so no bargainin' for Rogan - he isn't happy. I've seen my first sign of good useful magic though. After trudgin' our way through the murk Lilah used some strange spell and all the mud fell off of my clothes. Actually a useful spell - wonder if she can fix thin's like rips, breaks and tears too...
Month 7, Day 13 - Mornin' harsh. We slept in a bunk cabin and were interrupted early by a big fight. Some 7' tall skeleton had recruited a bunch of orcs and had 'em fight up against a 9' tall Mini-dragon and its recruits. Lasted about 10 minutes and destroyed a good portion of the inn area. We didn't get involved though Cha-kan snuck out and looted the bodies. Wish I had thought of that... Mental Note: Remember to LOOT.
Month 7, Day 15 - Still doin' Karate. We just finished goin' to talk to Tarsticks. Strangest thin' I've seen in quite some time... well, not really. After all this hoopla about gettin' there, we end up climbin' a mile of stairs and then descendin' another one. Well, everyone else did. I just used these fashionable boots and levitated up and down the staircase. When we got there, there bein' Nectopedia, City of the Dead, Cha-kan got lost in thought for about 5 minutes and then stated he had talked to Tarsticks and had the information - we could leave. Just like that. Seemed awfully silly. To keep in disguise though, we went to a leatherworker and picked up some boots and gloves. I got an awesome pair of gloves that have reenforced knuckles in 'em - they will help with Karate somethin' fierce!
Notes on Nectopedia: Everythin' is very square. Metal and cubeshapes are all over. Even the Clouds are square and bang together. At one point we walked off of one face onto another. It was very wield. It also smelled VERY bad. Lilah and I spent most of the time gaggin' and bein' sick. Mental Note: Do not return to Nectopedia unless a good pair of boots are needed.
Month 7, Day 16 - Back at Mercy Killer headquarters. Actually, we just left it to go back to Sigel. A bagpipe guy was followin' us for a while though and then tossed a scroll to Cha-kan. He read it and announced we have to go to the Abyss. Lovely. Didn't Lilah's mom tell us NOT to go there? She wasn't upset at Beyator and that was quite awful.
Month 7, Day 21 - Took us five days to get here. Here bein' the Abyss. I know understand the phrase "Go to Hell". It takes only a few seconds to get there and its no effort to go, but the Abyss, wow, you have to TRY to put yourself in that kind of despair. Its actually work. We spent five days sluggin' through swamps and bein' eaten alive by mosquitos larger than my fist. When we finally got to the portal, Rogan choose not to go - he was goin' to take the information back to Sigel. The rest of us, however, weren't so wise. We jumped through and were in another version of Beyator.
Destruction and Desolation abounded. The landscape was blasted. Pits and raizervine everywhere. The bloated red sun glared down with an intense heat. Everythin' was dusty and even the craters showed signs of decay. Lots. I've been introduced to a new kind of plantlife as well - one to avoid. Bloodthorns. Turns out they are intelligent raizervine. They seek out blood and suck it dry. At least they bloom a pretty color when they are full.
Month 7, Day 22 - We're in a place called Broken Reach. Actually, we have travelled through it. We have to go to Gallo's Gate for Cha-kan. Killraven feels at home with all the dusty red sand that's around. I knew he was strange.
(later) It took about 4 hours walk to Gallo's Gate. We've dodged any kind of dustcloud that was stirred up. Guess a patrol wouldn't be in order to explain thin's to. I've got my Deadly Largo disguise goin'. Gallo's Gate is a site of decay. Heavy Decay. Cha-kan is smilin' a lot as we can actually watch thin's decay in front of us. I've heard of watchin' the paint dry but this is mad! The boards are actually new and then disintegrate over a matter of a few minutes.
After bein' stopped by the guard (which we had to kill) a second group of guard came over and escorted us over to visit Jaranda. Lilah did most of the talkin' - that is, to the 10 undead centaurs with bullshorns. She said they are Tanari and she knows the language. Sure.
We were lead into a palace. A huge gapin' mansion with pillars and windows - it of course, was decayin' before our eyes - I didn't feel comfortable even settin' my feet on the floor. We met with Jaranda. She's some 7' tall women with dreadlocks and a drawlin' accent. I didn't notice her too much as I was stuck lookin' at the large ancient doomgaurd symbol on the floor of the room. THIS is where Cha-kan comes from? Yikes!
To make a long story short (as I have to get some sleep soon and I am afraid even my charcoal will decay as I am writin'), Cha-kan and Jaranda talked in some language I didn't understand and then the two of 'em seemed to reach an agreement. Jaranda then talked to Killraven and the two of 'em decided to have a bit of a fight - merely as a contest. Jaranda then changed into a 6 armed snakewoman and proceedin' to systematically kick Killraven's ass all around the room. Ouch.
I've now had to reside to sleepin' on the floor as the bed keeps decayin' and I can't tie up my hammock to anythin' as the posts keep breakin' and such. We leave in the mornin' - hopefully NEVER to return. Mental Note: Do not join the Doomgaurds.
Month 7, Day 23 - Walked back across to Broken Reach. Back to Plaguemore. Found portal back to Sigel. Quickly got back to Sigel and now Cha-kan has asked me to help him with a little favor while some of the other folks go and find Tarstick's lab. Sounds good to me. Cha-kan says he needs my sniper abilities but he doesn't want me to kill anyone.
Month 7, Day 24 - In a place called Automa, with the Captain. Its just the two of us on a little recreational vacation as he puts it. Somehow I don't think so - its Doomgaurd business and they have an unusual idea of relaxation.
After break'in away from our group - only yesterday, the two of us went to a tavern called the Ubiquitus Wafarer. There, we talked to a generic bartender named Jim. It was refresh'in that he was so bland and unusual but then again, he was so normal look'in I couldn't even remember what he looked like. Anyway, he gave Cha-kan a large metal screw and told him to go to the roof and screw it into the gate.
We did. A large portal openned up that dumped us in a place that made the Hangman's Court look like a chaotic realm of madness. I felt awfully queazy with everyth'in be'in so perfectly shaped . Even the cobblestones and grout'in were exactly placed. The build'ins, the windows - even the sky and people were all perfect examples of the dominance of law.
The people though somewhat bothered me. Seems that standards have gone right out the window - if it talks, its intelligent, slap a belt pouch on it and make it an honest citizen. Yuck. There were large spheres, somewhat like bowl'in balls, walk'in around and do'in chores. There were even th'ins that appeared to be coffee tables do'in things. Cha-kan told me that was our mission; to return with several alive and dead bowl'in balls and coffee tables. Right.
Cha-kan is out right now gett'in papers signed so that we can leave soon. Later today hopefully. We've mugged a few of each and learned some minor details. The spheres are the grunts and take care of tasks like garbage collection and such. When they die, they dissolve and vanish. Hopefully though, they are all killed at once else they split and divide into an even number of spheres. At least they are stupid and easily confused.
Month 7, Day 25 - Back in Sigel. Thankfully - that Automa place was gett'in on my nerves someth'in fierce. We successfully brought back a pair of balls and one coffee table. The table put up a piss-ant of a fight. We also talked to the Council of Anarchy which is some evil but naturally lawful group of thief geometric nightmares which were gett'in rather miffed about our mugg'ins. We ended up gett'in a connection into the group; enter in McGuval's Stabl'in Establishment. There was someth'in else about a spiral staircase to the underground and that it was constantly watched by the police but I didn't pay too much attention. I was watch'in the things surround'in us while Cha-kan fast talked us out.
Geometric Nightmares included 144 Spheres, 12 Planks, 2 Triangles, 1 Cube. Rough business. Luck was with us - didn't have to fight any of them. Plann'in now to get together with group and find out what they learned.
Month 7, Day 25 - Later in Day. Met with others and found out they got the Cleansed Font for the mixture. They discovered the lab in the central portion of the Abyss Street in the Abyss warehouse. Its suppose to be a rather awful look'in build'in that I don't even WANT to look at. Think I'll take a bath and wash my hands clean of the whole th'in. We're suppose to go to Ysgard for a little R&R and to get some seeds. Sounds relax'in for a change - maybe even someth'in I might recognize.
Month 7, Day 25 Checked the room. Several more notes. Go'in to HAVE to do someth'in about this. These notes are rather irritat'in - that's for sure. There are currently three new ones... I've added them to the summation list but it looks like a pair of Harmonium are go'in to get trounced.
We leave later today for the high reaches of Ysgard. I've packed my sailor disguise along with a few odds and ends.
Month 8, Day ? - We are at a vik'in tavern. I've missed a few days and am unsure just what day it is. Everyone here is dressed in wool coats and into boast'in and wench'in. Great. Piss-soaked wrenched vile bat dung heads - if Lilah opens her mouth at all I'll have to staple it to the back of her skull!
The vik'ins say they will help us, only we have to complete some challenge to prove we are worthy. Each test is individual and I'll be do'in mine later today. Right now, Lilah is engaged in a drink'in contest and has been go'in at it for about an hour. Wow can she drink! The Captain finished his one-on-one bare-fisted fight with a few vik'ins. He won all three matches and I made a nice small profit off him. Later, Rogan is go'in to tell stories and Killraven is go'in to play a game of shuttle-rock. I don't know what Valas is go'in to be work'in on but its someth'in mind oriented. I'll be on a pillage contest with a young lad that is about the same age as me.
Month 8, Day ? - I won my pillage contest though only by the chin of fester'in weasel. About 30 of us loaded up into a small boat and rowed for an hour and then beached the boat. We then ran across country for about 10 minutes. I was winded easily - not used to dodg'in trees and such. We then trashed our way into Skuli Hall. We had a full 15 minutes for pillag'in and I used it best as I could.
Once inside, I found a home with folks in it and tried to steal their stuff. I had to shoot the father - which made me feel bad until I learned that as long as he died in heroic battle he would awaken the next morn'in. I threatened the children and the mom and got them to back off from the goods and looted as best as I could and took off runn'in. Got what I would call a good hall. Turns out though, the young lad had better look'in stuff than myself - he just got gipped by the judges. No complaints on my part.
Lilah is stone drunk but she beat the guy she was drink'in with. Rogan also looks pleased with himself - he story-told them someth'in snazzy they hadn't heard before and also won. Everyone in our group was victorious so we leave in the morn'in for some island that connects the great tree of life... or someth'in like that.
Month 8, Day ? - On a boat! A good one too! The Captain looks like a captain and everyone is handl'in it fine. I've got Lilah up at the bow with me and we are rid'in out the waves without a problem. The only problem I can see is the very big waterfall approach'in very fast that we aren't attempt'in to avoid...
Month 8, Day ? - Watersoaked now. Still try'in to dry out. We soared over the waterfall and slammed into the bottom of the "river" and then floated up on steam until we reached in island. Very confus'in. They unloaded us. I had to fix my disguise and now we are headed to some village that is a light walk away. Maybe a day - its suppose to be run by the goat centaurs.
Later - Just finished off three cyclops. Well, the group did. I did drop one of the monsters by myself though - surprised him with the bolts and feathered him real good in the chest. Rogan and I tried to track them to their home but its a skill we just aren't good at. Tomorrow we should get to the village.
Month 8, Next Day - Ok. This sucks sheep gnads. We've found the village and its at minor strife (not yet war) between the goat centaurs and some sub-human overgrown chipmunks. Lilah and myself have agreed to moderate between the two. We've spent the day with the chipmunks and learned what their life is like and what motivates them. Practical jokes. They aimed them all at us. I'd rather staple them to the tree then deal with them again. No sense of humor when I'm tired.
We've also been with the Goat-Centaurs and I have to sympathize with them. If I had to deal only with the Chipmunks I'd be upset too. The moderation that Lilah and I worked out is a three day summer festival which celebrates freedom and trad'in. Dur'in that time, the chipmunks can visit the barrier and perform all the tricks they like... but ONLY dur'in those three days. The rest of the year they can't enter the village. Works for me.
Month 8, Day 4 - We've been giv'in the seeds of life. They are much bigger then I suspected. I've got 4 of them that each weigh 15 pounds. Killraven has 4 that each weigh 120 pounds. We are also in Tradegate at Lilah's folks cafe. It seems we are stor'in all the iinredients here. Soon we will be go'in back to Sigel as Cha-kan, Killraven and Valas have to spend a few days train'in before we go to Limbo. I've got some serious plans on find'in out about the notes - if I can get some help from my companions.
Finally know the date too. After be'in out of it for a few days the dates all stream together into a blob of noth'inness.
Month 8, Day 5 - The group has split into various sections for now. Valas, Cha-kan and Killraven are all of train'in in their various establishments.
I've decided to find out what I can about the notes. I've borrowed Cha-kan's mind bracelet and have also prepped a note and left it under the door in hopes that whomever drops them off will read it and respond. They have to rip a corner off of it - now its a wait.
Month 8, Day 6 - Buggered around town and saw the sites. I spent several hours work'in on a few new disguises too - keep'in the o'l hand proficient at the arts.
I'm also a bit paranoid - the note hasn't been ripped and its bound to happen sooner or later. Its been at least a week since a new note. Gotta be someth'in go'in on.
Month 8, Day 7 - Hurra! Note is torn. Looks like its the Cold Bowl tonight to figure out
Cold Bowl tonight for me. Not terribly bad but I've gotta w'in into my drowned fisherman disguise soon - as well as prep both Lilah and Rogan - they agreed to help me out. Valas is back and I might just set him up to do the same. He could be of assistance.
Month 8, Day 8 - Well, I wanted change - looks like I got it. I've met with one of the three groups that has been dropp'in notes off in 'the' room. Its not my room. Heh heh - funny the way th'ins work out.
I arrived just before anti-peak by myself. I could spot Lilah and Rogan in disguise rambl'in around as I snagged a seat and sat down to a pleasant bowl of rat soup. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw them saddle up to a table next to me. Soon - this strange woman sat down next to me - turns out though, it ***(Illegible Writing)*** I dredged and pulled crap out of my ass so fast even a driedout sponge would be suffer'in from diarrhea just watch'in me. She fell for most of it and I learned a few th'ins.
The room is owned/payed for/resided by a creature named Garish that is a Yugoloth spawned from some lower plane of gloom. He is also a mercenary from the Grey Wastes and refuses to join whatever faction they are a part of - yet he is paid by them to do their dirty work.
As I could gather from the conversation, the work they do is ***(Illegible Writing)***. I had to think fast. Very fast. I could have easily just walked away from it all - not been a part of it and th'ins would have been better. I don't even know quite why I did what I did but maybe it was because I think ***(Illegible Writing)***...that I (she think'in I was Garish) had a young apprentice that was gett'in to big for apprenticeship and wanted to get more involved. ***(Illegible Writing)***
My companions questioned what they had heard and offered no advice. I didn't give any either - but told them I had to warn a friend before she got her ass kicked or kicked mine. They didn't track me.
Once in the Hive Hole I ***(Illegible Writing)*** and flew to the joint. Inside, I snagged a table and picked up a gent that looked somewhat like myself in another disguise. He had the right height, build and glasses to pull it off. Soon, ***(Illegible Writing)*** arrived, I told the guy to sit at the next table and wait for me.
***(Illegible Writing)*** sat down and started a conversation. She at first beat around the bush but I rallied right in that the Yugo had been train'in me and that I was will'in to be interested in what they had to offer and wanted the change. They've agreed to have me. Whomever "they" are yet I must prove myself as myself... I was very determined that I didn't want to let my past rule itself or let someone else hold the reins.
I've got a meet'in in 5 days with them at a shattered place. We'll figure out stuff then. My companions have asked about the information and I've told them very little. Lilah has spotted the ***(Illegible Writing)*** and I've had to fill her in on a little bit about it - namely that its ***(Illegible Writing)*** No one has used that name and the symbol I did see didn't quite look like anyth'in I have seen before. ***(Illegible Writing)*** ...with is I am investigat'in the insurrectionist sect. ***(Illegible Writing)*** it the Surrectionists and do a lot of wishful think'in.
Month 8, Day 9 - Did little but prepare a few new disguises. Checked out of the room in the Black Sails and moved into the room next door. I now own my own place but its ok. I've paid bribe money and such that I shouldn't be watched.
Month 8, Day 10 - Finished the move as well as laid some traps over in the hive hole. The Raizorvine outside the window is grow'in quite well and that joint is slowly be'in cleaned up. I still wonder though, just what is in the warehouse below me.
Month 8, Day 11 - Worked on disguise stuff. I'm a bit worried about the meet'in tomorrow with ***(Illegible Writing)***. Wonder what's go'in on with these cells. I'm just about out of room so I think I'll be start'in a new book.
Talked to the Captain. A Yugoloth is some type of demon that is highly intelligent, highly evil and easily irritated. I think I suspected that - one of the reasons I already moved out to another room. I've told him though that these people are Surrealists and have some funny sect that they are talk'in about. He's a bit confused and hasn't heard of them... good!
