In 1767 he was named town trustee for Powell town, now Middleburg, VA.

Feb 9th, 1779 was sworn into the militia with rank of Colonel (Order book G page 143 Loudon Co, VA). In list of soldiers in Continental Army (Order book g page 384) in 1782 the list of tithables? and taxable property -- Will Bronaugh is in the 3rd Battalion in Shelbourth Parish.
