| Misc. Notes |
From all available evidence, The life of William F. Carter was a productive and fufilling one. He was probably more involved with the internal affairs of Sudley Methodist Church than any other member of his family.
He came to live at Mountain View, one of the less pretentious Carter homes east of Sudley House in Fairfax Co. His children were born here, at Red Hill Plantation nearby, and at Centreville. His wife died at Mountain View and was interred beside her husband in the Sudley House lot.3
Mountain View passed out of Carter ownership in 1859 as the result of a suit among various heirs after Cassius Carter died intestate. |
