Misc. Notes |
In her girlhood, an active and accomplished tennis player.
Widowed early with a son still at home, she went to work as a realtor.
Family joked that she was "dyslexic in time and space," because she was never on time and always getting lost. She would navigate by stopping every block or so and asking for directions. Travelling with her was fun, but frustrating. She would let the grandkids navigate, so we could travel at our own pace or see things we wanted to, but she was always striking up conversations with strangers. She always seemed to be able to find someone who was related to her, or grew up in the same town.
She was always willing to play make-believe with her grandchildren, and let us use the dining-table exensions as slides, or turn the sofa cushions into fortresses, or play in the butter.
"Had sand in her shoes," "Never met a stranger." |
