They were divorced after Vivian was born. She went on to marry a number of other times; Grandpa V's cousin Vivian told wonderful stories about this woman and her exploits, including the husband she thought better of after the wedding and abandoned at the train station -- she got into the train and got right out on the other side.
When Grandpa V went back to visit his parent's home in Canada later in life, he rode to the town of Kilbride (near Hamilton) with a local man, who on hearing who he was exclaimed, "You're Charlie Wilkerson's son? Why, he's had every woman in Kilbride!" This may have contributed to his divorce.7 |
