albert mayhew was my grandfather[maternal]his father andrew homesteaded land in harrison twp.it was right on lake st.clair before they had roads the only access they had was by water. the farm is now the site of the spillway from the lake to the clinton river i had heard that grandpa was from canada but did not know where if I can be of any help e mail me jacmary@shawneelink.net

my maternal grandfather was albert mayhew son of andrew and amelia .i have one uncle who is still alive carlyle f. mayhew he lives in caro mich.i have an interresting story about anna and albert they married a brother and sister rudolph and gertrude lacroix [my grandmother] albert and gertrude 7? children one my mother,rudolph,and anna [we called her aunt annie]had 3 girls one named alberta, now alberta and my mother elsie [first double cousins] married brothers carl and harold trost[my father] carl and alberta had one son my first , second and third cousin he lives in mt. clemens mich. i left a message in genforum for you but it seems you already know more family history than me . i knew grandpa was from canada but did not know where now i know. i did not know he had a brother named george my uncle would probably be agood source of imfo if you are interrested and with his permission i would send you his address jack

hi wow this stuff is interesting ive only had this computer for 2 mos and this is what i bought it for i really wanted to research my grandmothers family lacroix i just run into your page by accident i waswrong jean-baptiste was probably the one who homesteaded the land in harrison twp. my grandfather albert inherited it later sold it when my mother was a girl i had never heard anyone talk of a brother george i was born in mt clemens in 1935 we moved from town to a house on campau lane just off jefferson i knew some campaus they ran a grocery store not far from us we bought the house from a lady named campau in about 1947 my grandfather lived with us for awhile before he passed away i remember a lady about his age used to come and visit her name was campau her son was the one who ran the store i distinctly rememember them speaking french my mothercould speak french also i left that area when i was 20 moved to pontiac mi. from there to s.ill. where i live nowmy grand parents had 7 children Tirilda,Ferilda Celesta,Elsie[my mother] Morrila, Marvin and Carl[still alive] my grandfather was a pilot on an ore carrier on the great lakes when he was young then a barber in mt. clemens till he retired my aunt morilla did some family research but she never got as far as you ihave a cousin morillas daughter who also does geneolgy her email is shirleyweisner@aol.com. my uncle Carl Mayhews address is 1601 w. gifford rd.Caro,Mich. he has no phone being the frugal frenchmen that he is! he had a business in harrison twp.maybe he could help you my cousin from mich. is coming for a visit today he is annas grandson i will see what he knows here is my address and ph.# Jack Trost,62Pepper rd.,Olney,Ill.62450 ph.1-618-442-701525
