FoE Help for New Members
Forces of the Empire makes a concerted effort to make sure that people who join the club don't get lost. We have three main ways of doing this. The Mentor Program (detailed here) The New Member's Kit, and the Persona Bio Book (detailed in the Club Publications Section).
The Mentor Program
If you decide to join the Forces of the Empire, you will be assigned a Mentor. The Mentor is there to keep in touch with you, and to answer any questions you may have. Your Mentor will introduce you to the way we role play, and will help start you out, most likely by role playing with you themselves. Sometimes it doesn't work out that your Mentor and you will have characters that would ever interact -- either as friend or foe. In that case, it is up to the Mentor to hook you up with someone else who has a character perfect for you. It is not mandatory that the Mentor and Rookie role play together, but it is mandatory that the Mentor be there to guide you, introduce you to other members, and answer all your questions.
Keep in mind, also, that there are no "dumb" questions or "insignificant" questions. Your Mentor is there to answer ALL your potential questions.
Once you've compleated your stint as a Rookie, you will then be eligible to become a Mentor yourself if you wish, and guide others through the club.
When you join FoE, the Mentor you are assigned will contact you first, and start you on the path to role play fun and excitement!
The New Member's Kit
When you join FoE, you will be sent a New Member's Kit. The Kit is designed to help explain as much about the club as possible and get you started. The Kit includes: The New Member's Book which contains lots of useful information (a lot of what is included here), a persona bio sheet to get you started on creating your characters, your membership card, and the addresses of the Division leaders so you can get yourself into a division and get going.
The Kit has recently been rewritten to bring the information as up to date as possible.
