Creating a Persona for FoE

You don't have to create a character or role-play in order to be a member of FoE.  We love to have fans of all kinds in on the fun with us.

When you join FoE, you will be sent, among other things, a Persona Bio Sheet.  This is what you will use to create your character for FoE.  The sheet has all the things necessary to create a background for your Character, such as: Parents, Siblings, current job, special abilities, and Character history.

FoE does not use trait ranks or statistics, except in live action role-plays. We rely purely on role-play.

We recommend that you wait a bit before creating a character, and talk to your Mentor (the Mentor system is described on the page listing new member aids) and others to get a feel for the club.

When you do decide to create a character here are somethings to keep in mind:

It is important that you do not come into the club with an inflexible character concept.

Our version of the Star Wars universe has varied somewhat from the movies and more recent books etc. You should talk your Mentor and some other members about the kind of character you want to create. There may be things we've established in our universe which would make your character out of place. There are also limitations on the initial power your character may have. Obviously, you won't be able to come into the club as a Grand Admiral in the Imperial Navy, you have to work your way up. And there may be something in your history that might not work. For example, you might want to be the only survivor from Alderaan, besides Princess Leia, but the club already has several other survivors from Alderaan (in fact we are beginning to wonder if there was anyone on the planet when it was destroyed). So don't come in with your character concept locked in, be ready to be flexible.

     Be creative!

Don't make your character too powerful.

No one want's to role-play with a god, or with someone immune
to blaster fire, or someone who can teleport anywhere they want. It just is no fun for others, and they won't  want to role-play with that kind of character.

Force Users are ok, but we do have quite a few of them. We encourage non-force users, just because there can't be that many in the galaxy, but if you want to be someone who has the use of the Force, that's fine. You will probably not, however, be able to come in as a fully trained Jedi or Sith unless you can come up with a really good explanation in your background. Once you join the club there will be personas around who will be more than happy to train you in the use of your "gift".

     We also encourage originality.

Don't necessarily create a character related to the move characters. We
have enough Vaders, Skywalkers, Solos, etc. to choke a horse. The more original the character, the more interesting.

You can have more than one persona.

If you want to have a persona in both the Imperial and Rebel divisions, that's ok. But remember, if you do have more than one character, one doesn't automatically know what the other one does. We recommend waiting before you decide to create more than one persona, to get a feel for the club and get used to how we play.

Don't be afraid to be creative.

Besides the things mentioned above, almost anything goes. Feel free to
make up a home world for your character. The galaxy is a big place, with a lot of planets, there is sure to be one to fit you.  If you cAlso don't be afraid to make a character from a strange background, or culture.

A good way to get ideas for your character is to read the Club's Persona Bio Books (detailed in Club
Publications). They list all the personas in the club.

Above all else use common sense. Think "would I want to role-play with (or against) this character?". Talk
to your Mentor! That is what they are meant for!
