EARLY FAMILY MEMBER DIES
Mrs. Mary Teats, 80, was pioneer
Mrs. Mary Teats, member of a prominent Macomb County family and pioneer resident of this area, died Saturday afternoon in her home, 24 Fourth street, following an ilness of several weeks. She was 80 years old.
Mrs. Teats was the daughter of Francis and Mary Louis Mayhew Campau. Her grandfather Campau sold the Joseph Campau property to the City of Detroit years ago and was widely known in the state.
Her husband Art teats, also a member of a prominent community family, died in 1917.
Surviving are three children, Mrs. J.C. Ryan of Conneaut, Ohio, Mrs. Charlotte Wilkerson, of Mount Clemens, and Philip A. Teats, of Detroit; five sisters, Mrs. Ada Gedalia, Mrs. Julia Krull, Mrs. Delia Nephew, Miss Lena Campau, and Miss Hattie Campau, all of Detroit, a brother, James, of Harrison Township near the city; and 10 grandchildren. Prayers service will be held at the residence at 8 o'clock tonight, and funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 at the residence and 10 a.m. at St. Louis church. Burila will be in the Catholic Cemetery.16 |
