1860 Census Hillsdale Twp: Edward age 27 Harriet 24 Judson 5 William 2 Lovell 1/1240 Family appears in 1870 U.S. Census, Fayette Twp, Hillsdale County (P.O. Jonesville) House 80, Family 82 Mayhew, Edward, 38 M, W, Mechanic, 2000, 900, Canada Harriet, 36, f, w, keepign house, NY Judson, 16, m,w, at school, NY ?, 13 m/f, w, at school, MI Rest of record barely legible in scan. Had children aged 10, 5, G.E. 3, and James, 1.15 I believe Irving (listed as Erwin, Irwin, and Irvin as well as in other sources) died between April 1909 and April 1910 (dates of Detroit city directories). The Mayhews are also listed in those city books as "E. Mayhew & Son (Edward and Judson T.) Contracters,Carpenters, and Builders.41 There is a Guy E. Mayhew listed as well as Edward, Irving, Henry, etc. is various years living together and doing some sort of work with the carpentry business. The GE I believe is Guy. 42 | ||||||||||||||
